Auto driver held for enticing woman
According to police, Md Sharfuddin, 26, resident of Mahmood Nagar in Rajendranagar mandal, who was returning from Hyderguda in his auto trolley, offered lift to a 28-year-old woman and made her sit beside him in the front seat of the auto.
Hyderabad: An auto driver was arrested for ‘enticing a woman’ in his auto at Shamshabad under the RGIA police station limits, on Thursday.
According to police, Md Sharfuddin, 26, resident of Mahmood Nagar in Rajendranagar mandal, who was returning from Hyderguda in his auto trolley, offered lift to a 28-year-old woman and made her sit beside him in the front seat of the auto.
On the way, after they reached Simplex in Shamshabad, the accused suddenly diverted the route with the intention of kidnapping her and tried to entice her by “soft-talking” to her and even gave her his mobile phone.
The woman understood his intentions and suddenly jumped out from the auto and rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint.
The police, on her complaint, registered a case, obtained the IMEI data and call data from his mobile phone, analysed the call details and arrested him under sections 366 of the IPC.
“This is a case of kidnapping of a woman and enticing her for sexual favours,” RGIA Inspector M Mahesh said.
