​Hyderabad: Cyber Crime sleuths of Cyberabad police Commissionerate on Tuesday arrested two persons on a charge of cheating gullible persons.

The arrested were Ashish Kumar and Ashwani Kumar Shukla, who hailed from Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The duo told police that they had been working for a private company, named ‘Today Life Style’ in Delhi.
Police said the accused used lure gullible persons by promising gift for online purchase of any item worth Rs 4,000 through their company.

The police said the arrested persons had lured a person from Hyderabad by promising a costly gift on purchasing any item worth Rs 4,000.

The persons had purchased a micro oven and it was delivered to him promptly. Later they accused had made the persons deposit Rs 1.25 lakh by making him believe that the money was meant for paying income tax and insurance for the costly gift he had won.

But the so-called costly gift had never been delivered to the persons. Subsequently, the accused stopped responding when the complainant realised that he had been duped and preferred a complaint, police said. After investigations, the accused persons were identified and arrested from Noida, police said.
