30 eve teasers held during Ganesh immersion

Hyderabad: During the final day of Ganesh immersion, She Teams of Hyderabad City Police apprehended 30 people, including eight minors, for harassing women.

The She Teams in mufti observed, that some people were following the procession and sprinkling water on women, who were immersed in Ganesh sloganeering and Bhakti songs, some were throwing water packets, some people were held for throwing paper pieces and flowers at women, some were taking selfies with women without their knowledge and some were arrested for blowing whistles and shouting at the women.

They also found that some of them followed and stalked women, while few others were trying to touch women inappropriately in inebriated condition. All these activities were video recorded and they were caught red handed with video evidence.

Majority of them were caught at the Tank Bund, others were caught from S R Nagar, Charminar, Falaknuma, Mehdipatnam, Chaderghat, Secunderabad and other areas. Cases were registered and they will be produced in the court. Dozens were warned for creating nuisance during the Ganesh Shobha yatra.
