Hyderabad: Mild tension created in front of Narayana College on Monday at Tarnaka under Osmania University Police station when a woman employee and her relatives staged a protest against the college dean alleging that he was harassing her mentally regarding work.

According to police, Asra Fatima has been working in the college from eight years. On Monday morning hours she along with her family members and relatives staged a protest in front of college and attacked Dean Srinivas Rao, alleging that he has been harassing her. When tension created in the college premises police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Police took the Dean into their custody and filed a case under sections 354 A and 354 D IPC and started enquiring him in OU police station. Later with the help of student leaders, the victim staged a protest in front of the police station demanding strict action against him. She alleged that the Dean also harassed the students earlier. She demanded the college management to suspend him from his post, failing which they will intensify their agitation further. Leaders of student organisations demanded immediate removal of the Dean from the post.

Meanwhile Dean Srinivas Rao denied the allegations made against him. He said the allegations were baseless and according to his responsibilities only he asked her about the admissions of new students in their college branch.
