east2 Gandepalli (East Godavari): Ed-vantage YAPPON, which was started in February at Aditya Engineering College, was held in five nodal centres. The objective of the programme was to encourage young engineers in developing new applications for 24 hours continuously. The finals of YAPPON were held at Aditya Engineering College in Surampalem for the winners from five nodal centres. Young engineers from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu participated in the finals, which was held on March 16 and 17. Students from JNTUK, KLU, 3BIT, KITS, Chaitanya, BVC, Pragathi, GNIT and Lakkireddy Balireddy colleges, along with the students from Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, took part in the finals. Winners (four-member team) of YAPPON finals were given Nokia 610 Windows Mobile phones along with Rs 25,000 cash. The teams which stood in the second and third places were given Nokia 610 Windows Mobile phones. Aditya Educational Institutions vice-president N Satish Reddy thanked the students, parents, staff and non-teaching staff of the institutions for the success of YAPPON. The parents of the students and the students who came from other places expressed happiness over the successful conduct of YAPPON.
