The schedule for ECET-2014 was released by Chairman ECET-2014 and JNTU-Kakinada VC Professor G Tulasi Ram Das in Kakinada on Monday.
Disclosing the details to the media, Das said that ECET-2014 was conducted for lateral admission into II year regular B E and B Tech courses in all India council for technical education approved un-aided professional institutions and also for admission into I year regular B E, B Tech and B Pharmacy courses in University engineering colleges.
He informed that the ECET-2014 would be conducted in 14 domains like CE, ME, EIE, EEE, ECE, CSE, ceramic technology, chemical engineering, metallurgy engineering, mining engineering, biotechnology, pharmacy, B Sc mathematics. He mentioned that the pattern of examination for engineering, pharmacy and B Sc mathematics would be objective type.
ECET chairman made it clear that the candidates should score at least 45 per cent marks for general category, and 40 per cent in case of reserved category for qualifying the examination.
Notification of ECET 2014 would be released in newspapers on February 4 and candidates can submit applications online from February 10. Last date of submission without late fee is March 29 and hall tickets can be downloaded from May 2.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the examination would be held on May 10 at 12 regional centers and 78 test centers from 10 am to 1 pm. Final key and results would be released on May 19. Candidates can download rank cards from website from May 26, added VC.
He informed that the cost of application form for ECET-2014 has been retained as Rs 300. Ajay Jain , Commissioner of Technical Education, Professor L Venugopal Reddy, APSCHE Chairman, Ajay Mishra, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Professor B Prabhakara Rao, Rector, JNTU-K, Professor G V R Prasada Raju, Registrar, Convener ECET-2014 and Director of Evaluation, Dr Ch Sai Babu. Director and JNTU-K university officials took part in the programme.
