Visakhapatnam: The BSc, BCom and BA degree results were released by Prof.G S N Raju, Vice-Chancellor, Andhra University, here on Friday The results were announced in a record time of 22 days despite Samaikandhyra bandh and other agitations, he stated. A Special Instant Examination will be conducted on May 19 for those who failed in one subject. The candidates should go through the AU website for further details.
Prof.Raju said that girls fared well and were toppers in the degree examinations. A total number of 17,832 candidates for BSc, 7,807 candidates for BCom (Regular), 4,219 for BCom Vocational and 3,933 for BA appeared for the examinations. Out of them, 21 per cent of the boys and 45 per cent of the girls passed BSc, 29 per cent boys and 48 per cent girls for BCom(Regular), 29 per cent boys and 51 per cent girls for BCom Vocational and 21 per cent boys and 34 per cent girls for BA passed the examinations, he disclosed.
Prof.E A Narayana, Rector, Prof.K Ramamohanan Rao, Registrar, Dr K Samrajyalakshmi, Controller of Examinations, Prof.G Sudarsana Rao and Prof.Visweswara Rao, Deans, were present on the occasion.
