Hyderabad: The protest by the students of Osmania University against regularisation of contract workers entered the seventh day here on Thursday. Students claimed that the government had called for talks with the agitating students on Thursday.

The students demanded that notification for one lakh vacant posts in all departments should be given. “Candidates who were recruited for gazetted, junior lectures and degree lecturers should not be regularised as no reservation rule was followed by the government while recruiting,” said Samba Shiva, OU student. They also demanded that government should give 10,000 contract jobs to the OU students without screening test.
