Hyderabad: The Osmania University (OU) is set organise a series of lectures for university students on language skills, soft skills and life skills. The first lecture would be delivered by psychiatrist Dr P Nagesh at Tagore Auditorium, OU campus on Friday at 2 pm

Speaking to newspersons at the university here on Thursday, OU registrar, Prof. E Suresh Kumar said that the lectures are being organised under the University Grants Commission provision of ‘Human Rights and Duties – Education’. He added that at least two lectures would be organised every month, which students and scholars of the campus and constituent colleges can attend to acquire communication and employability skills along with regular academics. He urged students to make use of this opportunity.

Suresh informed that language training centres would be set up in all the constituent colleges. “The training centres will be on par with the Centre for English Language Trainings. Currently, a couple of colleges have these centres and we have decided to establish in the constituent colleges,” he added. Dr P Vishnu Dev, Co-ordinator, EOC, OU, said that the Cell imparts remedial for NET, SET and Competitive exams, helping students easily acquire employment.
