Novel as an adjective means that which is new, different from the existing one, original, that which is unusual and innovative. He has novel ideas to design houses. The US continues to be the country of innovative minds in the cyber-field because its residents are coming up with novel ideas: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter…Novelty is a noun: it refers to newness, uniqueness, curiosity, souvenirs and mementoes.
