GITAM University is now all set to encourage 100 startup companies with their engineering and managements students. GITAM School of Technology Director N.Siva Prasad said that the university was planning to constitute a national-level advisory committee to encourage entrepreneurship through its existing campuses in Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

Inaugurating a workshop on ‘Mobile Application Development and 3D Printing’ with an aim to encourage startups, the Director said that the student community should take advantage of the state government’s initiatives and incentives to set up startup companies. “Our university is also allocating special budget to encourage research activities which would facilitate startup companies”, he said.


Product Designer Honey Bajaj is the resource person for this workshop and she appreciated the efforts of GITAM to encourage the budding entrepreneurs. She has conducted Design Thinking workshop for over 4000 individuals at various places across the globe.


Young CEOs from various fields, including Helios Eco-Vidyut Private Limited’s Ravi Teja Muthu, Dirt9’s Suraj Kumar, young technocrat Rajkumar and students participated in the workshop. The workshop will be continued 30 days, many more CEOs, Experts from industry will take part in this event and provide guidance to the young minds.
