Fight functions as a verb and noun, and has many meanings. Fight means quarrel; to exchange, give, render, receive blows (physical) with or without weapons, brawl, attack another person; exchange blows, hit, punch. Men in movies flight invariably especially in action movies.

Fight means to overcome odds, to tackle unpleasant situation or condition, eliminate something that is on the way; struggle or battle to overcome or overtake something; to oppose, confront, challenge such as in a dispute. The law enforcing authorities are constantly on guard to fight against the trouble makers on the grounds of race, caste, religion, migration.

Flight is a noun, and has many meanings: flying through the air, a journey in the air; passage of an object in the air, movement of a projectile through the air; the trajectory; the speed or the pace of the ball in ball games; a journey made by an aircraft; flight refers to a flock of birds, a flock of insects, a migration; in racing, flight is a series of hurdles in the race track; volley, the flight of arrows, the flight of ball in a tennis match; a verbal excursion, a mental journey, a sally (he dwells in flights of fancies); flight is the distance covered by a bird, aircraft, missile. In darts, the flight is the tail of a dart.

Ornithologists study the flights of birds especially the migratory birds.
Flight informally refers to an airplane, aircraft.
Flight forms several compounds words and phrases: in the first flight (someone taking a leading position or place), put to flight or take to flight (make someone to flee), flight attendant (steward); flight control or air traffic control, flight feather (feathers that support bird’s flight)
Flighty means fickle, referring to a girl, flighty means frivolous, changeable, and crazy. Its derivatives are flighty, flightier and flightiest (adjectives), flightily (adverb) and flightiness (noun).
Ostrich is a flightless (adjective) bird.
