Hyderabad: The Career Compass 2016, organised by The Hans India and HMTV on Saturday has received an overwhelming response from the diverse educational institutions.

Students from diverse education backgrounds attended the event which was hosted by Methodist College of Engineering and Technology, Abids, Hyderabad.

More than 15 stalls were installed by from various institutions including - engineering and technology, finance, banking, insurance, IAS coaching centres and multimedia-.
The event gave a platform for many education institutions to exhibit the facilities and courses offered by the institutions.

The Digi Quest, Founder, K Basi Reddy, describing the importance of the multimedia and digitalisation said that there are more than two lakh jobs lying vacant in the digital industry due to lack of skilled employees.
“The prime reason for this was lack of awareness among the students”, Basi Reddy opined.

He also said, “The institution has introduced a new four-year course called 'creative engineering' at Rs 1.5 lakh per annum which guarantees employment to all the students”.

Brilliant Group of Institutions faculty said that they have adopted first of its kind Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system with best infrastructure and lab facilities.

While, Ashoka Group of Institutions Hyderabad mechanical engineering wing professor Vandana said that for the first time an engineering college has been providing a special training for IAS and IES aspirants in its campus for a nominal fee.

Ram Chander, Founder of Vidya, a software and hardware service centre said that the institute has been proving a six months’ practical course for working technicians and fresher’s, where they can learn the hardware and software solutions for all advanced gadgets. He said that the six months’ course would guarantee 100 per cent job place.

Sri Ram Academy, which has been providing home tuitions since 20 years, installed a stall in the career compass, said that they hire experts in all concerned subjects from under graduate to post graduate courses.

The academy representatives said that they have been charging Rs 3,000 to 6,000 based on the subjects and the concerned teacher would teach students for 2 hours in between 8am to 9pm.

VS Sharma, executive member, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) claimed it is first recognised institution in the country to provide company secretary course. The parliamentary approved three years course for 10+2 students.

Several others institutions including Methodist College of Engineering and Technology, Indur Institute of Engineering and Technology, Excellency Group of Institutions, Rotomaker Academy of Advanced Visual Effects, Stantley College of Engineering and Technology for Women, LakhotiaInstitue of Design and others participated in the programme.

The representatives interacted with parents and students and explained about the innovative courses in the respective institutions which would meet growing demands of the industry
