Andhole Assembly seat in for a sea changeMedak: The Andhole reserved (SC) seat, represented by former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, the winner in 2004 and 2009 elections, is set to witness a sea change following the defection of actor Babu Mohan from TDP to TRS.

Rajanarasimha senior had represented Andhole for a decade from 1967. The TDP wrested the seat in 1985 when M Rajaiah won. While Damodar Rajanarasimha won in 1989, Rajaiah was successful in 1994. After he moved to the Lok Sabha from Siddipet, Babu Mohan bagged it in 1999.

Since then, the actor has been close to TRS president KCR, whom he affectionately calls ‘bawa’ (brother-in-law), since Chandrababu Naidu made him (KCR, who was then in TDP) in-charge of Andhole to ensure Babu Mohan’s win. From then on, KCR has been keen on making this seat a stronghold of the party, besides checking Rajanarasimha. This is said to have made him persuade Babu Mohan to join TRS. Babu Mohan is now certain to be the TRS candidate.
