Katti demands Rs 2 crore for Suneela's family

Tenali (Guntur): Dalit Mahasabha General Secretary Katti Padma Rao demanded that the government pay Rs 2 crore under the SC & ST Sub-Plan to the family of the late Suneela who died while trying to rescue her daughter from miscreants. Participating in a protest meeting over Suneela's death at Tenali on Monday, Padma Rao warned the government that he would hold a dharna at the Revenue Divisional Office on May 6 if the government failed to implement the compensation package. Padma Rao lashed out at the government for opening belt shops in every street corner which was resulting in the increase of sexual assaults against women. He said that the government should implement total prohibition in the state to prevent atrocities on women. He wanted the Chief Minister to personally visit Suneela's family members and console them. He also wanted the government to allot some land for the dalits for construction of a grave yard under the3 sub-paln.
