Nuzivid: The Maro Praja Prasthanam padayatra of YSR Congress Party leader Y S Sharmila continued on 117th day in Nuzivid Assembly constituency of Krishna district on Thursday. She began her walkathon from Hanuman Junction in the morning and concluded at Gollapalli after addressing a public meeting in the evening. Sharmila conducted a Rachabanda programme at Sitaramapuram village in Nuzivid mandal and interacted with the people. People poured out their woes to her as they found the present government was diluting the welfare programmes launched by late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Addressing people at various places during her day-long padayatra, Sharmila said the people could not celebrate festivals as long as the Congress party continued to rule the state. It has imposed Rs. 30,000 crore burden on the people by hiking power tariff in the state. "The people can celebrate festivals only when Rajanna rajyam under the leadership of Jagananna ushers in the state," she said. Sharmila celebrated Ugadi in Sitaramapuram village and savoured Ugadi Puchadi along with the party leaders. Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, former MLA P Appa Rao, Party district convener S Udaya Bhanu and others participated in the programme.
