Ravi Dubey The Jamai Raja. After staying away from daily fiction shows for the past two years, popular actor Ravi Dubey is back with a bang in ‘Jamai Raja’ on Zee TV it has a male oriented title, story and concept.

Waiting for unconventional opportunities seems to have worked for Ravi Dubey. His show ‘Jamai Raja’ produced by Hindi film actor Akshay Kumar is just a month-old and grabs the top fourth position in fiction category

After staying away from daily fiction shows for the past two years, popular actor Ravi Dubey is back with a bang in ‘Jamai Raja’ on Zee TV it has a male oriented title, story and concept. “I play Siddharth, the male protagonist and that is the USP since amidst all the female oriented shows we are bound to stand apart. I am the peace maker between Roshni (Nia Sharma) and her mom (Achint Kaur). The show is entirely character driven with well-etched characters making it strong,” he shares.

“Unconventional things always excite me so whether it was out of ordinary shows like ‘Saas Bina Sasural’ or ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ I have always risked my decisions. This time too I liked the concept of ‘Jamai Raja’ since it was unique and I never opt for safe options,” he adds.

‘Jamai Raja’ is co-produced by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Ravi is all praise for him, “Akshayji, despite his busy schedule, spent a lot of time and effort on the show. He even shot a promo with us and has always been kind and generous. It really helped us get more eyeballs since this was his first home production for television.”

This handsome young man is not eager to jump the Bollywood wagon either despite being approached for the same. “On a monthly basis I am offered 2-3 scripts but I don’t want to do anything just for the sake of it. I have noticed that TV actors are viewed with a critical eye and have less options when it comes to a potential character so whenever a film has to happen it has to be the best offer and till then my complete focus is on ‘Jamai Raja’.”
