Allu Arjun acted in the latest ad of OLX.com, urging people to download the app. Speaking during the launch of the advertisement, he said, “It’s humourous, yet gives a strong message.”
The ad has Allu Arjun romancing his girlfriend, played by actress Regina Cassandra, outside her house, when her brother spots them. To avoid getting reprimanded by the brother, a quick-thinking Allu Arjun pretends to be a cop (as he is wearing Khakhi pants), and starts interrogating the brother about his scooter before he can question Allu Arjun. He tells him to upgrade from his scooter to something that suits him better and to post an ad for his scooter on OLX in order to get money by downloading the OLX mobile app. Within minutes of posting the ad, the brother starts getting calls from buyers. A confident and victorious Allu Arjun walks away saying, “Ammeyandi Boss” which roughly translates to ‘Bech De Boss’.
Earlier this year, OLX.in conducted the first ever used-goods survey in India, which highlighted that Hyderabad’s contribution towards stocking used goods stood at 19 per cent of the total volume stocked by urban India.
“This is the first time we are experimenting with an advertisement in regional language. We are a young, innovative and energetic brand and we felt that the popular actor Allu Arjun would complement our brand. And he did an amazing job,” shared Amarjit Batra. He also said that the Telugu ad would help the brand penetrate well into the local market.
