Founded as a startup by an IIT-Kharagpur alumnus Anuradha Acharya over two years ago, the organisation now does advanced molecular research and diagnosis to study and sequentially cure medical conditions that are inadequately understood by regular diagnosis.
"Our analytics and research helps us to detect potential health risks like the tendency to put on weight, chances of developing a hereditary ailment or something even as chronic as cancer. Drug responses to an individual can also be analysed. This data is used to help fight these ailments at the genetic level," says Anuradha.
Genomepatri, Sugargene, Cardiomap, Oncomap, SpoligoTB and SmartTB are some of the therapies at MapmyGenome. SmartSport, for example, helps you analyse your sprint power and endurance for sports and recommends the sport that is most suited for you.

The test analyses muscle capability and tells you whether you are better for sports that require muscle power, prolonged stamina, or combination of both. Similarly, another therapy called BrainMap deals with diagnosing neuro/psychological aliments which could help combat alcoholism and nicotine addiction in adults or analyse learning-spectrum disorders.
A successful entrepreneur for nearly 15 years, also the co-founder of Ocimum Biosolutions, the winner of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader 2011 award believes that timely care with right combination of medicine and technology can serve as the best remedy for health disorders.
With medical research and methodologies advancing at jet speed, it is not too long when diseases could be prevented long even before they occur. And MapMyGenome is already working on that.
