While child rights group Balala Hakkula Sangham recently reported the presence of E.coli and Salmonella bacteria in the food served at restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) too followed it up with an investigation of the allegations.

The corporation sent several samples of food from KFC outlets to the State Food Laboratory in Nacharam, the same laboratory where BHS too tested the food.
The BHS has demanded the GHMC to reveal the contents of the analysis report. The Lokayukta had recently issued notices to health secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, directing them to probe the case and submit a report by August 5.
