My inspiration is my brother Mr.Narendranadh, Indian Forest Service, who made me realise that my happiness lies in civil services. Initially I started my preparation in New Delhi and later I shifted to Hyderabad. At every stage in my preparation I have continuously motivated myself towards my goal. Every day I have looked as an end in itself. I used to have daily targets and regular revisions.

In this process I have written more than 200 examinations in a year to create precision in my script. I consider this is my success point. Throughout my preparation I maintained discipline and focus without deviation. My success can be attributed to my mother Bhuvaneswari Mylavarapu ,My father Sivananda Kumar Mylavarapu , My sister Anupama Nuli, My philosopher Bala Latha Mallavarapu.

How did he crack it?

For Prelims, conceptual clarity and subject fundamentals are very much essential. Current affairs updation is always an added advantage. For prelims extensive preparation is required. Focus should be given on Art and culture, Environment, Polity. Public policy should be focused more. For Mains, I have given special emphasis on general essay and ethics papers.

Instead of preparing specific and limited essays I developed essay writing skills. I read many books written by great authors like Jawaharlal Nehru ,A P J Abdul Kalam, Amartya Sen etc. I started the essays with good quotations and maintained logic and coherence. I gave views which were very balanced and at the end I gave a positive note. For ethics, which was newly introduced, I made a comprehensive practice in answering case studies.

For general studies, I have added value to my answers with updated information from daily newspapers and from All India radio. Repeated revision and preparation of comprehensive notes is imperative for tackling GS mains. For Geography optional, I have given pictorial representation where ever possible in the answer sheet. Reading standard textbooks of Majid Hussain, Savindra Singh, Khullar etc is mandatory. Elobrate understanding on Atlas fetches more marks.

My personality test date was on June 2nd. The following are the questions were posed to me

1.What is GST ? What are its advantages ? Why some states are against it ?

2.Lee Kuan Yew ? His significance and his public policy ?

3.Make in India? What measures will u take for making it successful?

4.Tobacco consumption?

5.Women empowerment and problems of working women?

Civil services is the one of the prestigious examinations but it is not a tough nut to crack. With sustained hard work and continuous commitment to the goal any one from humble background can achieve success. As an IAS officer I want to work for social justice , women empowerment and qualitative education. I also want to inspire my juniors and motivate them in their preparation in civil services.
