Vijayawada: Pattabhiram Turlapati,a city-based writer, found a place in the Telugu Book of Records for authoring more than 200 books in various streams in English language. Chief coordinator of Telugu Book of Records, T Kanaka Mahalakshmi, presented a letter of appreciation to Pattabhiram at a function held in the city on Sunday evening.

Veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao, the Chief guest to the event, said that in recent years, people have stopped reading books. Instead, they are looking for entertainment on television and on the internet. Books however open up a whole new world of possibilities and help an individual to mold himself as a better citizen in the society.

He congratulated Pattabhiram Turlapati for his achievement and urged him to contribute for the betterment of the society through his writings. Stage artist Pilla Prasad, Krishna District Writers Association general secretary GV Purnachand, Indian Badminton Association general secretary K Ch Punnaiah Chowdary, Veda Gangothri Foundation president Dr GVS Vara Prasad, artist Ch Ravi Kumar and others also participated in the program.
