Celebrating the glory of SD Burman
Gallery Cafe at Kalakriti Art Gallery in association with Aparna Talkies hosted ‘Sun Mere Bandhu Re: Musical Journey of Sachin Dev Burman’ last Friday in Banjara Hills.
Music lovers reveled in the lilting Burman melodies. Few memorable compositions including ‘Mera Gora Ang’ from ‘Bandini’ and the musical piece from ‘Guide’ with Waheeda Rehman were screened.
Sathya Saran, consulting editor for Harper Collins narrated stories on Burman, the man who created memorable Hindi film music, and shared snippets from her interviews with protégés and contemporaries of SD Burman.
The sonorous voice of popular radio presenter Ameen Sayani introduced Sathya’s biography, ‘The Musical World of SD Burman: Sun Mere Bandhu Re’ through an audio clip.
