Mountaineer Jaahnavi Sriperambuduru from the city has scaled new heights, quite literally. The thirteen-year-old has become the youngest ever to climb Mt Elbrus, the highest peak (5,642 Mts.) of Europe. On July 31 at 9:25 am (Russian Time), she along with her ten members’ Indian team reached the top of the mountain.

With this she has completed the second of her ‘Mission7Summit’, which started with Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa (5,895 mt) on October 2, 2014. Speaking on challenges she faced, Jaahnavi said, “Even (when) the weather was bad, I wanted to climb for India and make it proud.”

Jaahnavi is now planning to complete three more summits of #Mission7Summit by the end of 2016 that includes Mt Kosciuszko (Australia), Mt Aconcagua (South America), Mt Vinson Massif (Antartica), Mt Everest (Asia) and Mt Denali (North America). She hopes for support from the government and sponsorship by private sectors.
