New techniques to seal dental caries

The department of paedodontics at Vishnu Dental College, Bhimavaram conducted a seminar on ‘recent advances in caries management and hands-on course on micro invasive resin infiltration technique’ on Saturday.

Dr Neeraj Gugnani, eminent international speaker and paedodontist of DAV dental college, Yamunanagar elaborated on early detection of dental caries using latest equipments like Diagnodent, Fiberoptic transillumination (FOTI), SOPRO imaging.

He also stressed on the importance of detecting caries at an earlier phase and treating them effectively by minimal intervention without using drills. In this scientific discourse he spoke about the breakthrough discovery and paradigm shift in sealing caries without complete removal. All the doctors who attended were eager to implement this new technique.

Over hundred post graduate students and professors from GITAM dental college, Visakhapatnam, Sibar dental college, Guntur, St. Joseph dental college, Eluru, Lenora dental college, Rajahmundry, Dr Sudha Nageswararao dental college, Vijayawada attended the programme.
