Hyderabad: The Premier Badminton League (PBL) is all set to mesmerise the sport’s myriad fans, including the young and old.

Among the six contenders is Hyderabad Hunters, which is replacing Hyderabad Hotshots Indian Badminton League (IBL).
The main player for Hyderabad Hunters in the League that is commencing on January 2 will be the country’s poster boy, Parupally Kashyap, the inspirational multiple champion from Hyderabad.
Others in the squad include former world champion, Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia and Jwala Gutta, who along with Ashwini Ponnappa have won the World Championships women doubles bronze, which is a historic first.
To the starry-youngsters the news does not end just there. They have a golden opportunity to interact with celebrated global players.
In a bid to reinforce the youngsters and provide a platform to the young hopefuls, the promoters of the Hyderabad franchise have decided to conduct an exclusive event for the budding boys and girls in the 10 to 12 years age-group.
The aim is to provide opportunities to make the next grade and take a step nearer to their dream of becoming champion shuttlers.
In order to keep pace with the avowed mission, they have tied up with the iconic Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy (PGBA) in Hyderabad.
The two will be conducting a one-of-its-kind ‘Junior Hyderabad Hunters Championship’ with the hope that this would make for a good exposure to national and international level badminton.
Besides this the top-notch performers will get to meet their role models and heroes in person. The day-long junior championship is slated to be held at the PGBA in Gachibowli onJanuary 2.
The award presentation for the winners and runners-up will be on January 4. The bonus for the all the semifinalists will be that they will be given complimentary VIP tickets for the Hyderabad Hunters matches that will be played in Hyderabad fromJanuary 9 to 11.
