Regarding the inception of Plague Throat, vocalist/guitarist Nangsan lyngwa shared, “The band was formed after a breakup with their former melodic death metal band named ‘Against’, and it was until time that the band was established as a three-piece death metal band, and we call ourselves ‘Plague Throat’.

On whether things are better than before in terms of sound and band dynamics, drummer Reuben from Third Sovereign said, “Yeah, it’s always been kind of stringing along here and there, during the whole journey actually. Sometimes, we kind of get to play a big stage and sometimes we play small stages.

Our music is more brutal now and the sound also is really good, especially working with engineers whom I know. I don’t even decide my own drum sound; it’s the main guy at the desk that does that, and he’s doing a great job!” The drummer further went onto share that the music scene these days is not up to the mark since it is not possible to play a pub gig anymore, even in Shillong.
