Rohith’s suicide: Arrest of BJP MLC stayed
Justice P V Sanjay Kumar of the High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday stayed the arrest of N Rama Chandra Rao, BJP MLC Rohit Vemula, a scholar from the Hyderabad Central University, who had recently committed suicide. The judge was dealing with a petition filed by the MLC.

It was the case of the petitioner that he had visited Susheel Kumar who was allegedly roughed up in the campus. The petitioner said he had approached the University officials and urged them to take action on the culprits and maintain law and order in the campus. He said that his name had been dragged into the issue without any basis and though he was a designated senior advocate and he was not able to discharge his duty as a public representative due to this false case.
He pointed out that the suicide letter written by Rohit specifically said that he did not blame anyone for his suicide. The judge stayed the arrest and called for records from the authorities.
