A small space doesn’t mean you have to be cramped. Madhuri Atluri, an interior designer from Hyderabad shares easy room-expanding tricks to help you maximise your square footage.
Space it out
- If the space is less opt for a contemporary style so that you can use more of glass, steel and white colour themes. So, that space looks elegant spacious.
- You can’t use heavy furniture like carved classical furniture and neo classical furniture, which gives a bulky look and occupy space.
- Use of glass and mirror
- Using glass walls as divides for living and dining instead of solid walls and thick wooden partitions.
- Keeping the big mirror in the small rooms like toilets and dressing areas.
For bedroom
- Use the pastel shades or preferable white deco painted wardrobe in the small size bedrooms
- You can fix a decorative mirror on one of the empty walls in the bed room to make it look bigger.
- Fixed furniture’s like beds and sofas should be light tones, keep less furniture on the floor and keep art pieces on the walls to make the space look brighter.
Paint with light hues
- Painting the walls in lighter shades preferably, white is the right choice to get the right colour theme.

- Opera kitchen is the best option to save the space and to give spacious look for dining and living
