Global travel search engine Skyscanner released findings of their first-ever travel content survey. Polling over 8,000 travellers across 10 Asia Pacific (APAC) countries.

“The survey seeks to uncover insights into traveller preferences, from their content consumption patterns to their travel must-dos, across the Asia Pacific region.

Armed with insights from this survey, we can better understand the inspiration behind planning international holidays that Indians are most keen on,” said Reshmi Roy, Growth Manger for Skyscanner, India.

“Content often stimulates ideas for destinations and travel; and we are committed to give solutions to make international trips easier and better,” she added.

Debunking popular belief that shopping is at the heart of holiday activities; eating and drinking topped the to-do list for 10 per cent of APAC travellers, while shopping was a priority for a mere five per cent.

In terms of the type of content that inspire to travel, ‘photo galleries’ are a clear winner at 25 per cent for most APAC travellers, followed by ‘top 10 lists’ (21 per cent) and ‘travel feature articles’ (19 per cent).

Indian travellers on the other hand are most inspired by ‘top 10 lists’ (24 per cent) followed by city guides (20 per cent) and traveller reviews (20 per cent).
