Olympic silver medalist, PV Sindhu unveiled the specially designed finisher’s medals and t-shirts for the upcoming ‘Indian Police Martyrs’ Memorial Run’ on Thursday. Director General of Police, Anurag Sharma and Principal Secretary Home, Rajiv Trivedi were present at the occasion.

The ‘Run’, which will be held from People’s Plaza on Sunday, is expected to have a participation of upto 5,000 people and 600 representatives from Central Police Organisations.

The event is dedicated to remember the sacrifices made by the police forces for the country and build better community engagement and positive public interface with citizens.

As part of the event, a 15,000sqft ‘Police Expo’ is being organised at the venue where all State and Central Police Organisations will showcase their work, display weapons and equipments with an opportunity for citizens to interact with senior officers.

A ‘Hall of Heroes’ is also being set up with a list of officers who sacrificed their life in line of duty; people citizens can pay their homage and express their solidarity at the panel.

“At our first ‘Memorial Run’, the focus is to improve citizen engagement and build a positive public interface. The t-shirts and medals is a small step in that direction,” said the DGP.
