Warangal Urban: Senior Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy demanded the Assembly Speaker, S Madhusudhana Chary to act against the opposition MLAs, who were defected to the ruling TRS.

Speaking to the press persons in Hanamkonda on Friday, he said the State High Court and Supreme Court have taken serious view of the Speakers’ negligence in acting against the defected MLAs. Yet he was not caring to act, he alleged.

He demanded the Speaker to respond immediately on the issue if has any respect in the constitution, democracy and in the courts.

Many of the defected MLAs of Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh states have lost legislative membership following courts’ intervention.

The Speaker should take the recent comments of the Supreme Court and disqualify the defected MLAs, he demanded.

The benefits of separate Telangana were being cornered by the defected MLAs and leaders, contractors, the TRS leaders and the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao’s family.

None of the members in the society were happy with the TRS rule as the government failed on many fronts, Sudhakar Reddy alleged.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Congress SC Cell workers was held at Congress Bhavan. The AICC SC Cell convener Sirimalle Prasad, the TPCC SC Cell chairman Arepalli Mohan, the district Congress president N Rajender Reddy, its SC Cell chairman P Vijay, City Congress leaders K Srinivas Rao addressed the workers.

Speaking on the occasion, they complained that the ruling TRS was neglecting the dalits in the State and failed to deliver election promises.

Three acre land to landless dalits and fee reimbursement scheme were not implemented properly while loans given by SC Corporation and others were cornered by TRS men.

The party’s student wing NSUI has launched a programme at a college in the city to collect petitions from the students seeking fee reimbursement.

The petitions by the students would be submitted to the Governor, ESL Narasimhan, informed Rajender Reddy.

NSUI district president Kranthi Kumar, Kakatiya University in-charge A Karthik and others were present.
