Sudheer Babu reminded that unlike any other State, Home Guards here were given recognition and were being paid better salaries. Dedicated measures for their welfare were also being taken up.
The DGP Anurag Sharma asked the district police officials to identity the Home Guards, who skipped their duties for the past three days and staged agitations. They should be served show-cause notices for violating the rules.
Violating the code of discipline would not be tolerated, the DGP warned and said Home Guards were part of police department and it was not proper to stage protests. The State government was committed for their welfare, he added.
Warangal range DIG of police C Ravi Varma, Jayashanker Bhupalpalli district superintendent of police R Bhaskaran, central zone DCP MS Venugopal Rao and other officials were present.
