Karimnagar: The traders must come forward to accept cashless transactions, thus encouraging people for digital payments, suggested District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.

He conducted an awareness programme on cashless transactions and digital payments to the representatives of trade unions along with bankers at the collectorate conference hall here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said it will be easy for everyone if they carry out cashless transactions or go for digital payments since large number of people and traders have been facing problems due demonetisation of high value currency from November 8.

“Even the State and Central government are concentrating on digital payments. The traders can make use of number of apps available to carry on cashless transactions with the Banks at their wish’,

The traders can contact banks for swapping machines which would issued to them within a week. Money transactions could be done with mobiles even without internet connection, he suggested.

The bankers explained the traders through LCD projector about digital payments and how cashless transactions can be done.

They informed the Collector that they are going to organise such awareness programmes at village and mandal levels in the district.

Deputy Commissioner of Labour department Gandhi, Regional Manager of State Bank of India Shoba, representatives of SBH and Andhra Bank were present along with representatives of various trade unions.
