With only two days left for Sankranti, we can feel a shift in the weather already – the first chirp of seasonal birds; blooming of colourful flowers, lilacs, lilies, jasmines and mogras; fresh leaves are beginning to create a green hue around us – even our moods are mimicking the environment’s bloom.

Joining in celebrating this atmosphere people are creating rangolis all over the town.

The Hans India photographer Srinivas Setty captures this indulgence by children and adults of BJP Mahila Morcha and Telangana Jagruthi associations, who created colourful rangoli patterns with flower petals and dry rice at Amberpet Municipal Grounds on Wednesday.

Meanwhile students of Jahanavi Degree College also had a competition at their premises in Narayanaguda.
