It may be recalled that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao laid foundation stone for construction of 2BHKs in Suryapet on Dasara, 2015. As per the official information, construction works of 192 houses at Gollabazar of Suryapet town and 128 houses at Singareddypalem of Penpahad mandal are at finishing stage. Eighty houses sanctioned at Tirumalagiri of Suryapet are going to start very soon.

Apart from this, of the 500 additional sanctioned 2 BHKs under CM KCR quota, works of 364 houses were grounded at Kesaram of Chivemla mandal.

In Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy’s native constituency Tungaturthi, construction of 75 houses each in D Kothapalli of Jajireddygudem and in Maddiarala mandal headquarters and 50 houses at Annaram of Tirumalagiri mandal were already started.

However, the construction works of houses in Huzurnagar represented by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy and in Kodad, represented by Uttam’s wife Padmavathi, are yet to take off. The local Congress leaders, in this regard, have alleged that respective officials invited only tenders from the interested contractors but no work was initiated so far.

Speaking to The Hans India, Kodad MLA Padmavathi Uttam fired salvos on the government for not launching construction works in Kodad and Huzurnagar constituencies akin to Suryapet and Tunagaturthi, and described it an act of political vendetta.

She demanded the Chief Minister to clear all the pending bills of Indiramma Housing Scheme, where poor constructed houses by taking loans from the private money lenders at Rs 2 interest.

District Congress Committee Director Pasham Sampath Reddy alleged that no works of 2BHKs were initiated in CLP leader Jana Reddy’s Nagarjunasagar constituency and Deputy CLP leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s Nalgonda constituency. “It is unfair and politically motivated,” he alleged.

However refuting the allegations made by MLA Padmavathi, Suryapet District Collector Surendra Mohan informed that works of 2BHKs were grounded in three villages in Huzurnagar and another three villages in Kodad constituencies. Works will start in a week, he added.
