Address water needs first, Nalgonda ZP General Body Meeting

ZP Chairman Balu Naik chaired the meeting and Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy attended as chief guest where Collectors, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, ZPTCs and MPPs of Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri districts took part.
During the meeting, members discussed emerging water crisis in various places in three districts and underlined the need for digging new borewells and water supply through tankers to address the water needs in the present summer.
Meanwhile, some MPPs of Congress party have expressed their anger with placards and slogans against the State and Central governments’ move to suppress the power of MPPs.
Similarly, Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy objections over the violation of protocol in Nalgonda Assembly Constituency lead to a caustic discussion between Minister Jagadish Reddy and the MLA.
Addressing the meeting, Tunagaturthi MLA Gadari Kishore stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision of supplying free fertilizers was a historic one and farmers of the state would remember him forever. Later, all the members unanimously passed the resolution on free fertlilizer scheme that was submitted by ZPTC Shivakumar on the floor of the house.
Nalgonda District Collector Gaurav Uppal informed that district administration had chalked out action plan to tackle drinking water issues in the district. He also explained the non-inclusion of local body members in hospital development committee of Kamala Nehru Hospital of Nagarjunasagar.
Suryapet Collector Surendra Mohan informed that they were regularly conducting mandal-level general body meetings with utmost care and discussing all issues of the mandal in detail. Yadadri-Bhongir Collector Anita Ramachandran informed the members about the district administrations’ plans and steps taken to address the water issues in the district.
Minister Jagadish Reddy, in his key note speech, stated that Chief Minister had identified water scarcity in Nalgonda Munugodu, Devarakonda and some parts of Mahbubnagar district and directed the officials concerned to take necessary steps to tackle the issues.
The Minister urged the people to dig water harvesting pits and trenches to harvest every drop of rainwater. He stated water was released from Srisailam for drinking needs of both states and all water bodies under NSP and AMRP would be filled from Thursday onwards.
Jagadish Reddy further directed the Collectors to select beneficiaries of 2 BHK houses only after the completion of construction of houses. He also advised them to pay special attention to eligible Yadav community member under Sheep Rearing Unit scheme.
Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, MLAs Bhaskar Rao, Ravindra Kumar, Vemula Veeresham and Padmavathi Uttam, MLCs Krishna Reddy and Ravinder and others participated.
