The largest 3-on-3 college basketball and youth festival ever held in India, NBA Jam, powered by Jabong.com, will travel to Loyola College on November 27, 28 and 29. Apart from Hyderabad, the event is being held in 16 cities including Chennai, Kochi, Lucknow Jaipur, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi and Indore.
Over 3,000 teams are participating across the country. The National Basketball Association (NBA) and SONY SIX have partnered to bring the event back to India for the second consecutive year.
Actor and VJ Rannvijay Singh will be engaging the youth in the city to popularise the game of basketball and drive participation in NBA Jam. Fans will have an opportunity to play one-on-one against Rannivjay and get their picture taken with the star. Rannvijay, best known for hosting Roadies, played basketball at the national level and is a self-described NBA fanatic.
On October 27, more than 150 teams will participate in the 3-on-3 tournament. With over 30 colleges participating, NBA Jam will be the largest 3-on-3 tournament ever to take place in the city.
Besides the on court action, one of the most exciting sights at the event will be performances of the Sacramento Kings dance team, the traveling cheerleaders, who have been specially invited from the US by the NBA.
The travelling interactive basketball festival is focussed on growing and eliciting participation in basketball across India by combining exciting on-court competition with interactive games and contests designed to engage college youth and grow the NBA’s fan base. More than 600 colleges across India will be engaged in order to drive awareness and generate registration for NBA Jam.
