The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to expand the Rs 5 food scheme to 100 centres in the city. This was announced by Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav after the inauguration of a food centre near Satyam Theatre at Ameerpet on Friday. More than 13 lakh people have benefitted from the scheme in the last one year. With the Ameerpet centre, these 23 food centres are catering to 8,000 people in different parts of the city.
