T Ajay Kumar Reddy who is the vice captain for Indian National Blind Team and G Sreedhar, former international cricket player and organising secretary of the tournament, said, “In terms of playing equipment, the major adaption is the ball, which is larger than a standard cricket ball which is filled with ball bearings. The size allows partially sighted players to see the ball and the contents allow blind players to hear it. The wickets are also larger to allow partially sighted players to see and blind players to touch it in order to orient themselves when batting or bowling.” The first match will be staged at the Gymkhana Grounds on May 3 from 8 am to 11.30 am.
