Rain god smiles; heavy downpour lashes city
People were caught unawares as heavy rain lashed the city on Thursday evening throwing life out of gear. Heavy downpour was witnessed in and around Secunderabad, Karkhana, Trimulgherry, West Marredpally, Rasoolpura, Parsigutta, Begumpet, Punjagutta, Somajiguda, Khairatabad, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and parts of LB Nagar, Uppal, Kukatpally, ECIL and Neredmet areas.
Hyderabad: People were caught unawares as heavy rain lashed the city on Thursday evening throwing life out of gear. Heavy downpour was witnessed in and around Secunderabad, Karkhana, Trimulgherry, West Marredpally, Rasoolpura, Parsigutta, Begumpet, Punjagutta, Somajiguda, Khairatabad, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and parts of LB Nagar, Uppal, Kukatpally, ECIL and Neredmet areas.
Traffic, at some major junctions, came to a standstill and roads were inundated in many places including Abids, Basheerbagh, Charminar, Tolichowki, Asif Nagar, Chandanagar and Mehdip atnam. Bringing much needed respite from heat, maximum temperatures appreciably fell at one or two places across the State too.
The city recorded a maximum of 40 degrees on Thursday morning. Met officials at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre predicted more isolated rainfall across the region.
