As many as 2,969 candidates have filed their nominations for the ensuing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations (GHMC) elections.
Hyderabad: As many as 2,969 candidates have filed their nominations for the ensuing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations (GHMC) elections. Over 1,704 nominations were filed on Sunday, the last day of nominations, by candidates belonging to the registered and non-registered political parties, according to Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy.
Of the 1,704 nominations, 698 were filed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidates, 501 by Congress, 308 TDP, 308 BJP, 61 AIMIM, 28 CPI, 29 CPI(Marxist), 82 BSP, 31 Lok Satta, 3 YSRCP, 39 by other registered parties and 683 independent candidates. The scrutiny of the candidates will take place on Monday and the last date for withdrawals is January 21.
