Ramzan is coming!

City’s century-old velvet showroom Mohammed Cap Mart unveiled a rich collection of prayer rugs (Musallas) of international lineage at the ‘Ramzan, Monsoon and Back to School’ exhibition cum sale inaugurated at its premises at Madina Circle on Sunday.

The exhibition comes timely as Muslim holy month of Ramzan is just around the corner and strategically aligns itself with the approaching monsoon and back-to-school season in the city.

A variety of prayer rugs - both imported exquisite and fine hand-made musallas domestically produced are on display. A rich collection of these rugs in plenteous solid colours, traditional and modern weaves embellished with floral, arabesque and geometric designs are available in a variety of textures at the 109-year old store.

Besides the intricate designs and luxurious textures of the best quality, prayer rugs and carpets made of silk, cotton and plastic are also available for everyday use. Addressing a press conference, Managing Partner of MCM Ilyas Bukhari said, “This exhibition is our decade-old tradition to welcome Ramzan.

People prepare for Ramzan before it arrives, and prayer rugs make it to the list of essential must-haves in Ramzan.” “Our exhibition will also showcase some of the finest rainy wear for people of all ages. Additionally, a huge collection of ‘weight-less’ bags weighing barely around 10 gm to reduce burden on school students are also on display,” he added.
