Since it’s IPL season, and weekend cannot be fun without an outing, one can try the ‘Bar Exchange’. The inspired concept of beer market has been adapted by quite a few places in Hyderabad. However, ‘Bar Exchange’ on Road no 10, Jubilee Hills scores an advantage point with the collection of some good imported beer on its menu.

There is a charging bull (the stock exchange look alike) as a part of the décor that more than anything can be a good selfie prop, and there is the stock price that keeps scrolling across, on the digital display placed at a vantage height over the bar counter; albeit, the stock that we speak of here is of a different kind.

The concept is simple - the price of the drinks, to begin with, is the base price that keeps going up and down based on the demand, which in turn is based on the orders during a particular time. Once in a while, when the market crashes one can get to order their drinks at ridiculously low prices as well. Bar Exchange is on two levels. The nice cozy closed lounge space and the open-air space on the terrace that is more casual and fun during pleasant evenings.

For the adventurous, the extensive line-up of drinks includes, in addition to the Kingfishers and the Coronas; Double Stout, Leffe, Vintage Ale, Apple Cider, 1698 – Kentish Ale from the oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, and then there are the Whiskys, the single malts and the wines that also include the newly introduced Asav wines – Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc. One can also enjoy Sangrias made of Asav wine at Bar Exchange.

The food is not fancy, the menu in multicuisine and picks from all over the world. It goes by popular choice and is tasty to go along with your choice of drink and includes the likes of Hummus, Cajun spiced masala peanuts, Chicken lollipop with Chinese sauce, mutton pulao, nasi gorang.
