Hyderabad: Citizens Entitlements Campaign, a civil society organisation which started on 26 January is now spreading rapidly among the citizens. In the past one month it has reached out to a number of residents to come forward with their problems such as water, sanitation,

electricity and other civic issues in their surroundings and to register a complaint about the existing problems in the area using the app and online petition, which can save time and solve the issue with immediate action within the time limits.

Director of Association for Promoting Social Action (APSA) Srinivas Reddy said that various NGOs across the city are working on various awareness programmes with the help of pamphlets which include information regarding the act are precisely listed and over 5,000 copies of pamphlets have been distributed at Nampally Exhibition Grounds every day. He also added that if the problem is still not resolved citizens can report to us and we would take action.

Another social worker from Campaign for Housing and Tenurial Rights (CHATRI) Sanjeev said “we are distributing awareness pamphlets at various public gatherings and we have been conducting orientation programs in slums and colonies.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has designed “My GHMC” app and for Electricity department it’s “TSSPDCL” . Both the apps are available in Google play store where citizens can file their complaints and the issue is promised to be resolved within the given time frame and if issue is not resolved the officer in charge would be

penalised by the government with a compensation of Rs 50 per day which is to be paid to the applicant for Revenue, Engineering and Health issues and compensation of Rs 100 per day in case of the services of Town Planning section by GHMC.
