45 % spurt in applications for EFLU 2018 entrance
The English and Foreign Language University which conducts entrance exam every year for the students in different departments has seen an increase in the number of students applying for the entrance exam this year. A record 12,000 students have applied for the entrance exam to be held on February 24 and 25.
Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Language University which conducts entrance exam every year for the students in different departments has seen an increase in the number of students applying for the entrance exam this year. A record 12,000 students have applied for the entrance exam to be held on February 24 and 25.
EFLU received more than 12,000 applications for the 2018-19 academic year. While last year, the university received 8,617 applications. Also, the management and university has increased the number of centres from 8 to 23 centres. They exam is for two hours between 2pm and 4pm.
The university offers 41 undergraduate, post graduate and diploma courses. English course is the one for which students apply more followed by journalism, literature, mass communication and remaining subjects.
Vice Chancellor of EFLU E Suresh Kumar said, “The centres among the country has made increase in the application this year and it was done to attract the students from every state. The exam will be conducted on February 24-25 and results will be declared by first week of April. “
Riya, a student from EFLU university says, “EFLU has a strong English department, but it's strength lies in its TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) department. It is probably one of the best in the country. If you want to become an English teacher in a non-English speaking country, you will want this degree.EFLU’s library is one of the best I've seen, with book from wide ranging topics. And the calibre of the students would be known by their performances in entrance exam.”
