Medak: Commissioner of Civil Supplies Department Akun Sabarwal held a review meeting on the procurement and purchase of paddy at market yards in the district with the district Collector Dharma Reddy at the collecorate here on Sunday.

The Commissioner enquired about the purchase of the paddy and expressed his anger over the accumulated heaps of the crop at market yards due to the erratic record maintenance by the officials. As he was apprised by the Collector of the purchase was stalled at about 20 centres, the commissioner stated that orders for 6.9 lakh gunny bags were issued for the transportation for the market yards in the district. The MarkFed General Manager Nageshwar Rao was also ordered to prepare and send the accurate reports including speed up of the OMPS enrolling.

In the view of slow pace of unloading of the yield at the mills due to the scarcity of labour, the commissioner also cautioned that the produce would be transported to other districts if the process of the loading and unloading continues with the similar pace adding that the purchase of the paddy should be finished by August 15. Later, he visited the procurement centres at Machavaram in the mandal. The meeting was attended by SP Chandana Deepti, JC Nagesh, ASP Nagaraju, Civil Supplies DM Ramulu, and others.
