Hyderabad: Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) under State Municipal Administration and Urban development department has been selected for the prestigious SKOCH award, according to a press release here on Friday.
The organisers invited MEPMA director Dr TK Sridevi to receive the award at a function going to be held at Delhi in June. The MEPMA conducted survey on shelter-less people in 74 civic bodies with the use of surface satellite system.
The first of its kind survey has been appreciated by the Central government. The Centre urged all the states to take up census on shelter-less people by following the Telangana state’s phenomenon.
