Miyapur: Legislator Arekapudi Gandhi on Tuesday advised the 235 newly registered Social Media (SM) voluntary at a meeting in Srikrishna Grand Hotel to cooperate in taking the government’s welfare schemes closer to people.

Presiding over the meeting, the MLA urged them to become partners in ushering ‘bangaru Telangana’. He stated that a ‘praja pratinidhi’ programme has been launched to know the people’s problems, while pointing out that those who can’t meet him to explain their problems could convey them through various social media like Face Book, Whatsapp, Twitter. The problems would be taken to the notice of officials for finding solutions.

Gandhi said the meeting has been convened to take forward the government’s welfare schemes and to know how they could benefit more people of the constituency by appointing the social media volunteers. He pointed out that the volunteers would serve as a link with to move closer to the masses.

The legislator urged them to work with social responsibility, to bring problems of colonies to his notice and to strive for getting closers to people, while taking care to post through the social media only that information beneficial to society.

‘You should behave like responsible citizens and work like soldiers, taking minister KTR as inspiration’, he told the volunteers. Among those present were Telangana social media representative Satya Prasad, Serilingampally social media voluntary team representatives Upplapati Srikanth, Venkat, Narender, along with 235 volunteers.
