MLA, corporator offer lime juice to fasting women
Legislator Arekapudi Gandhi and local Corporator Saibaba on Wednesday offered lime juice to women who had gone on fast demanding retention of the Mahila Mandali Bhavan in Nanakramguda. The women had resorted to hunger-strike for 73 days after the bhavan in survey no 115 was allotted for TSRTC station.
Gachibowli: Legislator Arekapudi Gandhi and local Corporator Saibaba on Wednesday offered lime juice to women who had gone on fast demanding retention of the Mahila Mandali Bhavan in Nanakramguda. The women had resorted to hunger-strike for 73 days after the bhavan in survey no 115 was allotted for TSRTC station.
Addressing the women, the MLA said he had taken the issue to the notice of Transport Minister Mahender Reddy. He stated that land would be allotted for the Mahila Bhavan after discussions in TRSTC committee. He assured to provide all basic facilities in the bhavan, including the compound wall to enable women to conduct programmes.
Among those present were Weaker Sections Colony residents Bharat Singh, Kailash Singh, Sarala Bai, Annapurna, Rajamani, Jangamma, Mamata Bai, Devi Bai, Gita Bai, Area Committee members Dhanraj Singh, Anil Singh, Ravi Goud, Ramesh Singh, Santosh Singh, Goutam Singh, besides some villagers.
